Alana Rucynski
I grew up in Oregon and at the age of 18 moved to Maui with a mountain bike and $400 in my backpack. Since then, I have established myself as a driven community leader and an innovative entrepreneur. I managed several retail boutiques in West Maui before deciding to move to South Maui in 1992. In 2003, I became a dual-business owner opening my first of two busy retail stores in Kihei while simultaneously starting my real estate business. In 2008, I decided to focus on real estate full-time and have been an industry leader ever since. My energy and enthusiasm allowed for significant success even in the most challenging times of the Maui real estate market. In 2019, I was named the Realtor Salesperson of the Year by the Realtors Association of Maui.
I am active with the South Maui community. The quintessential “soccer mom,” I supported my two sons’ numerous activities by serving as Regional Commissioner of AYSO and on the board of directors of many youth sports associations. I also dedicate my time to several ministries at Hope Chapel including Vertical Sports Maui and Na Ohana O Mana'olana Hula Halau, reflecting the local culture while giving praise to God. I spend 2 to 3 weeks each year on short-term mission trips in foreign countries like Mexico and Brazil, helping build homes and doing outreach for communities in need. For 15 months during the pandemic I led the food distribution at Hope Chapel Maui giving out 1.5 million pounds of food to ohana in need.
I enjoy challenging myself athletically, as well. I am an avid CrossFit athlete and am a CF-OL1 and Crossfit Kids Coach . I enjoy paddling, SUP boarding, surfing, and backpacking. I have competed in the 40-mile Molokai to Oahu Outrigger Canoe Championships several times and love to lead hikes through the Haleakala Crater. My husband, Tim and I, live in Kihei. My boys are all grown; oldest son, Tristan, recently graduated from Icon Collective with a degree in Music Engineering and Production and is a Na Hoku nominated musician. My younger son, Tanek, lives on Oahu and is a college graduate in Fire Science and is an avid bodyboarder who loves to travel in search of waves.
Aloha,
Alana
